Sometimes being constrained by source material is a good thing. Having all the Pizza Hut bits and an entire episode per season dedicated to a highschool giant pizza making contest kind of shows how many compromises were made to put this thing together. Well he wasn't my first choice but my guess is because he's an off-brand Light Yagami, coupled with the overacting and the way Code Geass is structured.
